Bullying Prevention

Since the topic of bullying in schools is currently receiving well-deserved attention, the field is rich with excellent reference texts, websites for parents and professionals, and books and videos for use with children.  The resources included here are not exhaustive in any way.  They have been compiled to give the user an overview of the type of resource materials available.

Our resource area is divided into four main sections:

  • Building Awareness/Knowledge provides links to books, research, websites and dvds on the topic of bullying and violence prevention for teachers and other professionals in the school system. 
  • Working with Students includes lesson plans and activities that teachers can use with their students, as well as material for independent student use.
  • Working with Parents/Guardians reviews materials that school staff may want to bring to the attention of parents, guardians and others in their school communities.
  • Accessing External Programming provides information about bullying/violence prevention workshops and programs educators can access for their schools.
