Who is eligible?
All students in Grades 7-12 at publicly-funded schools in Ontario are eligible.

What types of projects are eligible?
bullet   a story or experience you would like to share
bullet   poetry and short stories, drawings, sketches, paintings, comic strips, cartoons, collages and/or original musical compositions (with or without lyrics)
bullet   videos (animated, music, live action, documentaries or PSAs)
bullet   photographs and posters
bullet   photographs (only) of sculptures, art installations and murals

Guidelines
Please do:
bullet   ensure that all entries (including musical compositions accompanying videos) are fully original creations
bullet   put hard backing to protect artwork when mailing protect the fragile artwork with protective packaging
bullet   spray and cover artwork that might smudge with an art fixative
bullet   send your entry on a CD or DVD if not possible to open or print easily
bullet   give credit if you are citing another's work
bullet   send us all video entries in QuickTime format on a DVD
bullet   write out and includes with entry the words to musical entries
bullet   limit stories and poems to 1,000 words (max)
bullet   If your e-mail exceeds 20 mega-bytes, including attachments, we would suggest that you send your documents by using: www.transferbigfiles.com

Please do not:
bullet   roll or fold artwork when mailing
bullet   use any corporate logos or corporate names
bullet   frame your artwork with glass
bullet   submit entries that are larger than 32 x 32 (81 x 81 cm)

Also… photographs, videos and CDs of your entry should include views of all aspects of the piece if 3-D.
Please indicate scale and size of work.


Entry and Release Forms
All entrants must sign and complete the Entry Form. Please attach the form to your entry, if you are sending it by email.

If you are sending by Canada Post, please include it with your package.

If you are under 18 years of age and you appear on a photograph or on a video, it is important that your parent or guardian signs the release part of the form.

Note: Students wishing to submit an anonymous entry should contact Lisa at COPA directly at 1-888-400-8975 or by email at copa@rogers.com.

Each individual that appears in an entry (such as a photograph or video) must also submit a separate (signed) Release Form (to be signed by parent or Guardian if under 18).

It is important to send all the required forms with your entry.

All personal information on all forms will be kept confidential and used for the purposes of this project. If you do not want us to contact you or you wish to keep your entry anonymous, please tell us so on the form.

Deadline
There is no deadline.

What will be selected for the Exhibit or DVD?
We are interested in all of your entries!

We reserves the right to select entries on the basis of the following criteria:
bullet   pertinence of subject matter
bullet   creativity
bullet   courage
bullet   new learning

How to know if an entry has been selected?
Unless you direct us not to on the Entry Form, we will send you a message by email telling you that your entry has arrived.

What happens to entries that are selected?
OTF and COPA reserve the right to place all entries on our online exhibition or in any of our publications.

Entries sent by mail will NOT be returned to sender, so please keep a copy!
